Seeing the Whole Picture
From your why, you begin to develop a sense of the story you want to tell with your life. This is your identity.
introduction to knowing your why
Foundational to any significant change, being able to genuinely explain your “why” is very important. Change is hard, in whatever context . When we desire change, it’s usually because we have recognized undesirable patterns that have become our normal routine.
Routines are comfortable. Even if they serve as crutches and are born of necessity or survival, we fall into them because they offer a form of relief or coping. Breaking them and making a change will be met with resistance.
Understanding why we want to experience change is a story we need to be able to tell – mostly for ourselves. It’s the story of where we are coming from and where we are going towards. When we experience resistance, we can recall the story of the journey we are on – and why it needs us to play our role.
It is the reference point for all your decisions and actions. It defines who you are and what makes you productive. It’s the reason for your life’s work. If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or unfulfilled, it is because you most likely don’t have a clear understanding of your “why”.
