Background
Often I will take time to make practice pieces using people whom I know and love as the subject. In this case, my beloved Uncle and Aunty who both played an important part in my life. As a child, their home in Fort McMurray, Alberta, was a summer retreat for my brother and I. We would spend up to 2 weeks with them and our favorite cousins, trying to stay out of trouble – and enjoying every minute. Although they’ve passed away, they remain fixed in my memory as the wonderful people they were – and this artwork is a tribute to them and my family.
